JCC Mission Statement: The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada exists to enhance the quality of life in southern Nevada by providing educational, social, athletic and cultural programs designed to meet the needs of the Jewish community and the community as a whole, in a way that unites, strengthens, nurtures and enriches all of our lives.
Youth Programs: The JCC offers a variety of programs for families with young children.

Youth Groups: The JCC offers two special programs for youth, a Youth Mitzvah Corps and Young Judaea.
- Youth Mitzvah Corps: A program providing middle school age students with an opportunity to plan and participate in a variety of volunteer projects to better the community. Sponsored in part by the United Way of Southern Nevada.
- Young Judaea: A year-round Zionist youth group for children in 3rd through 12th grade. Bi-weekly programs, weekend regional camps and a one-week camp in the summer bring Jewish youth from all over the community together.
Camps:
JCC Camp K’helah, where there’s more to summer camp than lanyards and capture the flag. At Camp K’helah, children sing, plant, dance, laugh, draw, paint, learn, sculpt, share, get messy, perform, swim, and grow all in a warm, Jewish environment.
8 weeks of a traditional Jewish day camp experience for children age 3 through those entering 9th grade. Transportation is available from Henderson.
- Preschool Camp (age three and potty trained through pre-kindergarten age)
- Core Camp – kindergartners through 6th graders
- Counselor In Training Program (CIT) – 7th-9th graders
- Travel Adventure Camp – 7th&8th graders
- Winter Camp, Spring Camp and School’s Out Days are held, for kindergartners through 6th graders, during breaks from school.
Adult Education: The JCC’s Jewish Education Committee offers a variety of adult Jewish education opportunities throughout the year. The highlight of this program is Honey On The Page, a series of lectures each winter featuring many of our community’s rabbis.
In addition, the JCC presents a variety of social, educational, recreational and cultural events for adults. A sampling of programs include Jewish singles activities, Jewish Bookfair, concerts, Viva Oy Vegas Variety Show, bowling leagues, chavurah groups, dining out club, card and board games, to name a few.
Senior Groups: The majority of JCC adult programs are offered to all adults, regardless of age. In addition, the JCC hosts a 3-day a week program for older adults that includes Movies on Mondays,
Special Interest Groups: The JCC hosts a Jewish Gay and Lesbian Chavurah.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are the lifeblood of the JCC. Opportunities are needed to:
- Work on a programming, marketing, or finance and personnel committee.
- Assist with office work
- Help make phone calls from home
- Teach a class
- Help maintain the JCC webpage with program updates
- Volunteer to assist with a program or special event.
Employment Opportunities:
- Summer Camp Staff: Summer camp staff are needed for the following positions.
- Specialists in Art, Music, Nature and Science, Drama, Sports
- Junior Counselors (10-12 graders)
- Senior Counselors (high school graduates and older)
- Travel Camp Leaders (must have strong tent camping skills and be available July 30-August 5)
- Childcare Leaders (7:30 AM-9:00 AM and 3:30 PM-5:30 PM)
Staff must be available to work from June 12 through August 17, 2001, transportation will be provided from Henderson.
